Rostra's new seating system will bring the driving experience to never-before-reached
levels of comfort

Responding to consumer demand for greater comfort, Rostra Precision Controls
has developed the Active Seat system, a new feature that surpasses all other
comfort levels now available. The system consists of a network of 10 adjustable
air cells encased in surgical plastic, placed between the foam and upholstery
of an automotive seat cushion and backrest. Sensors connect the cells to a microprocessor
which controls and automatically adjusts the pneumatic pressure according to
sophisticated ergonomic software.

Automatic Adjustment

Without any action required by the passenger, the software takes information
on his or her weight and position from eight critical areas, compares it with
a pre-programmed biomechanical model, and makes periodic adjustments. A manual
override allows occupants to change the support level if they prefer more or
less lumbar support than the ideal levels.

The result is not only a breakthrough in driver comfort levels, but may also
have significant physiological value. A similar device to the Active Seat System
was recently endorsed by the American Physical Therapy Association.

With the aging of America's baby boom population, car manufacturers have been
interested in cost-effective features that have special appeal to older drivers.
In fact, Rostra's Active Seat System will be an option on future luxury vehicles.

Rostra's Adjustable Lumbar Support system, a simplified manual version of the
Active Seating system, has been on the market for several months and has received

Sophisticated Simplicity

Rostra's Active Seat system is designed to be EMC compliant. The main assembly
components consist of a pump assembly driven by a 12-V electric motor, a control
module with a PCB assembly, and cushion and back assemblies including ten air
cells and pneumatic supply lines.

Rostra also offers a line of expandable features to the Active Seat system
including a heated seat and an "Occupant Exerciser."
